Game Guide › The Ash Cast
The Ash Cast
Votes, ties, Abstain and changing your mind.
After the talk, every living player may cast their ash on one other player. Votes are open: everyone sees who cast on whom, and the tallies grow on the roster as they land.
- The Ash Cast always runs its full time. Change your vote, or take it back, until the timer ends.
- The player with the most votes is exiled, however few voted.
- A tie exiles no one.
- Abstain holds your ash: it is public, like a vote, and the button stays lit until you change your mind (Cancel takes it back). When as many abstain as the player with the most votes has, no one is cast into the well: the village holds its ash.
- Not voting is allowed, but the fire keeps burning while the village stalls.
Sometimes, by day, someone the village cast into the well calls up from it. Nobody chooses what they say, and it tells you nothing: it is only the well. Settings → Voices from the well turns it off.
The Voting Hour lists you first, with any ash cast on you; anyone abstaining says so on their row. Under the list a line says what would happen if the Ash Cast closed now, and Votes Cast counts everyone who has decided, with the abstains beneath. Every vote and change is written in the System tab of the chat, and a drumbeat sounds when the last living player has cast. Judgement then names the result and who voted for it. The exiled player's role stays secret until the match is over.
