The church. Press the church door, or one of the braziers beside it, and Silas will hear your confession. He keeps a ledger for you alone: the innocents your ash helped cast into the well — believing, as one of the Village, or knowing, as a Werewolf — those taken in the night, and the wolves you helped send down. The last five innocents are named, and for a little Silver you may light a taper for one of them — when that villager is a player, the Silver goes to them, with a word from Silas. Nothing is ever forgiven or taken away: Silas only writes it down. The Parish Book, in the same window, is public: The Damned, with the most innocent blood, and The Faithful, with the most wolves sent down, counted at tables of players only — and a switch keeps your name out of it. The door glows when something waits to be confessed. Silas hears at the menu, in the waiting room and the fallen; never the living at the fire.
